Meeting neighbours and collecting signatures in Parque del Mar

This morning members of our committee and some of our members met park users in Parque del Mar to collect signatures and share our demands with the people there. Those we spoke to could not understand why ADIF’s facilities next to Casa Mediterráneo had been abandoned, or why such a lovely, central park was so inaccessible. Many did not know our association existed. They were glad we were taking the matter to the authorities involved and encouraged us to keep going. The morning’s success speaks for itself. In just an hour and a half we collected nearly 330 signatures, bringing our total to 2,460 residents. They want ADIF’s abandoned land turned into green space sooner rather than later so the park can open up to the city and serve the purpose it should have served when its first phase opened ten years ago. Something has gone wrong when we have waited this long with nothing to show for it. We want access to the park NOW and we will keep campaigning until we get it.
