Unjust harassment for helping someone in need

The Gran Vía Sur Puerto Neighbourhood Association is being subjected to utterly unjust harassment for helping and giving shelter to a vulnerable young man left to fend for himself. The association has spent years fighting hard for a healthy environment for all of us, especially in Alicante’s southern neighbourhoods, where we have long suffered environmental damage on land, at sea and in the air. Although the association has often fought without the neighbourhood support it deserved, a few ungrateful residents have spread falsehoods and defamatory claims about it for the ‘sin’ of helping a young man in an extremely vulnerable situation. He could be any of our sons or grandsons in an unfamiliar country. We stand firmly with @A.V.Gran Vía Sur and its defence of the most vulnerable. We wish more people would follow the example of such brave, generous and dedicated people. They make a difference to a neighbourhood and a city where people like them are scarce.
